About the Computer Programming ClassIt started off as a bit of fun in an ICT lesson on e-commerce. A simple challenge, find an unexploited niche using Overture's suggestion tool. Register a domain name that contained those keywords. Create a site using a content management system - all within an hour-long lesson. It worked too! Within fifteen minutes we had found a set of ICT-related keywords that people were searching for, which could be used in a domain name that was unregistered. DNS often propagates fast - we registered computerprogrammingclass.com and set up web hosting for it. By the time we had sorted out the hosting account, the domain was live. We used an open source content management system that would allow RSS feeds so that we could add blog feeds and news data that looked relevant. We had a site! But no real content... This new site has been just as much fun to put together - but it has taken far longer. As with all web projects, it's continually under construction. If you find it of use, great! If not, drop me a line to tell me what you would have liked to see more of... Choose a Fun Language!Logo :: Scratch :: PHP :: JavaScript :: Flash |
